Punjab Regiment (India) - The Punjab Regiment is one of the oldest regiments in the Indian Army. It was split into two following the partition of India in 1947, with one regiment being formed in the Indian Army, and another, also called the Punjab Regiment formed as part of the new Pakistan Army.

North-West Frontier (military history) - The North-West Frontier of British India was fought over almost continuously from the British annexation of the Punjab, until the British left India in 1947. The military history of the region has been a succession of uprisings by the native Pashtun (or Pathan as the British called them) tribes, each suppressed with more or less blood spilled, punctuated by major wars against Afghanistan.

Batala - Batala, a town located on the Amritsar-Pathankot railway line, is a sub-divisional headquarters of Gurdaspur district of Punjab state, India. The town has a historical importance in the history of Sikhism as Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh faith was married in this town.

Punjab & Sind Bank - Punjab & Sind Bank is a major bank in Northern India. Of its almost 900 branches and offices spread throughout India, almost 400 are in Punjab state, though the bank's corporate headquarters is in New Delhi.
